War Poem about Leaving Love :: essays research papers

Leaving Love My love is pleading with me Telling me not to leave her I can feel her agony deep inside myself too She is on her knees begging Our bond of love is strong, I feel terrible to leave her But I then departed, I gave her my heart Then my journey to the army I started In training now Preparing for a war That will soon be upon us In which my head shall bow For my country or more For months now working Training in long, hard sessions Of every hour, and every day Countless soldiers scream in depression They want to be back home. And when I lay on those small, hard beds Deep in the coldness of the harsh, metal frame And wrapped in nothing but a thin, cotton sheet I lay and try to forget my pain On my body and in my heart. Don?t Fall Back Holding the lines In deep, dark, snowy trenches Plague infests us all and the smell of the dead stings my nose when I take in a breath. As I shoot the other people down I take their lives for my own And when I look up above the trench to shoot again All I see is pinpricks of light They look at me with the knowledge of a thousand stars And they stare into my innermost soul, where it is dark They see my soul shrinking, like the waning of the winter moon My heart can feel it too It feels as though it is being wrapped up tightly Wrapped in the bloodstained snow around me Beauty, which is a lie, a lie of the glowing light A light, which is truly dead A light whose sparkling beams are knives stabbing into my heart Icy fingers reach out to my soul The fingers of life and death Sent by the moon With the icy fingers, those brilliant beams and the moon They each send an ever sparkling, iridescent light to show dark patterns in the snow Am I to live? I care not, as long as I have my one love Lost in Memory I am now free from war Free from the deaths That occur right next to me Forever waiting for disaster This obsession is draining my life I am drowning in my own sorrow and pain I look at the stars sometimes For hours on end, I watch them, I reminisce the war

My Dream House Essay

Generally, near the sea, in the coast, the temperature is softer than in the centre of a country, so I would like to live in a house next to the beach, where I can see the sea from the windows, hear the sound of water, enjoy a warm weather and walk on the sand every morning. If the house had a garden I would sow a lot of pine trees because on the one hand they have sweet-smelling and on the other hand they are evergreen trees which keep nice throughout the year. I would enjoy reading and listening to music if I sat in a comfortable swing under the shadow of the trees where also I would sit during the summer nights. My ideal house would be minimalist, without too ornaments and painted in white but with a well-equipped kitchen to try cook better every day. I wouldn’t like to live in an enormous and sumptuous house where you can lose in it, I only want a comfortable, clean and family house, which smell freshly washed clothes and where I feel happy. The house of my dreams. Well, I’m no very strict with the house. I think I would be able to live in whatever kind of flat or house. Now a days I’m well in mine. But if I were a filthy rich man, I would look for a place which were near the sea and the mountains. I love both of them, so I would like to have a house which were in the mountains, but that I could see the beach trough the windows. It would be great. The house should have two floors. In the first one, there should be the living room, the kitchen, a bathroom and my bedroom. In the second one, there should be at less four bedrooms where my children with their families, or some friends, could come when they wanted. It would be great to have a swimming pool, and why not, a helipad where we could park the helicopter of the family, and another one of some friends. That’s my dream. I’ve not achieved it yet, but I’m working in it. Every week I buy a â€Å"bonoloto†. Rent this ideal terraced house in the heart of the golf course in Islantilla. It’s perfectly situated, ten minutes walk from the beach and twenty minutes drive from Portugal and Huelva. It’s a nice house with all conforts. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious living room with chimney for the winter. It has a practical and modern kitchen with new microwave, iron, freezen, cooker and a diswasher for to make the most of your time. The house has big windows and a huge balcony, with confortable furnitures, it’s ideal for eating and sleeping the siesta outside in the summer. The neighbourhood is a luxurious residential area with padel court, swimming pool, gardens and a social club. There is a supermarket near to the house and a shopping center in the area. This place is perfect por walking, footing, hiking and above all golfing. This house is nice for two couples. Sorry no children and no pets and it’s a no- smoking house

Global Warming Causes and Effects - 1422 Words

Global warming has been a very contentious issue of late in regards to environmental health and safety. Many pundits and critics alike exclaim that global warming is not as prevalent as individuals claim. One such pundit is that of George Will, whose article, Dark Green Doomsdayers indicates that global warming is simply a hoax. The statistics however prove otherwise. Global warming and its effects are far reaching. Society is affected due to higher frequency of natural disasters and drought. Wildlife suffers as many animals become extinct, primarily in the artic region. Agriculture suffers as warming creates a larger propensity for drought and forest fires. Currently, global warming is coming to the forefront both politically and nationally. It is a very real problem, that can easily be solves through ingenuity and perseverance. Causes of global warming can be attributed to the effect of greenhouse gases (GHGs) emitted by humans. One of the first things scientists learned is that there are several greenhouse gases responsible for warming, and humans emit them in a variety of ways. Often, we dont admit to contributing to the global epedemic, but humans do so in a variety of ways. These methods, albeit small on an individual basis, often contribute to the larger role of greenhouse gases on the artic region. What is global warming? Well, global warming is a rise in the Earth s average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect (which I will talk more about.) Which is when our ozone layer has a hole which gradually increases, and increases heat from the sun. This causes major problems such as the polar caps meltingRead MoreCause And Effect Of Global Warming953 Words   |  4 Pagesunderstand the cause and effect of global warming, but it can take years for scientists to reach a consensus.
